Formed almost four years ago, JD International Consulting Ltd is an established, independent consultancy working with pharmaceutical and biotech organisations around the world.

Led by John Dixon, former Vice President of Drug Discovery at AstraZeneca, JD consults with start-ups through to multinationals and the business has grown through reputation and existing connections. To widen the company’s reach, the challenge was to enhance its online presence to further raise awareness of the services and advice provided by JD.

V Formation worked with Bowles Associates to come up with a site that would meet JD International Consulting’s objectives to help raise the online profile.

Superhero Direct Marketing

Brady Solicitors is a legal sector success story, trebling turnover in the last 18 months, with its market-busting service charge arrears solution for the property management industry. V Formation's most recent task was to create a direct marketing campaign that would generate appointments - and ultimately fee income - from new property management prospects.

After creating a small but perfectly formed database of 250 new prospects, we tasked Havok Design with designing a powerful set of postcard mailers that would hit the desks of our target recipients on a weekly basis. Each Superhero postcard carried a different message and was followed up with telemarketing. Two months on and the superheroes at Brady Solicitors have a number of new clients on their books.

Keeping it in the Family

Longstanding V Formation client The Wilson Organisation was keen to develop a strong pipeline of prospects and raise its profile without it impacting an already limited marketing budget. V Formation met with the directors and discussed options for building on Wilsons strengths within the family business sector.

The result of the these discussions was the Midlands Family Business Awards: a charitable initiative that recognises the successes of the region's family businesses. V works with Wilsons to generate media coverage and publicity, secure sponsors, drive entries and project manage the initiative. From Wilsons' perspective, the Awards have delivered significant profile in its target market together with a pipeline of exciting new clients and business development opportunities.

Tactics to Boost Cross-Selling

Business development activities often focus more on winning new business yet smart firms recognise the untapped value that can lie in their existing clients. V Formation works with clients to put in place client development and cross-selling programmes that deliver results. For Wilsons we work with the team at Bowles Associates to produce a bi-annual client magazine that showcases clients and prospective clients, giving a subtle and eminently readable insight into the firm's service offerings and approach.

Merger Communications

When law firms Young & Pearce and Sharp & Partners took the decision to merge, they turned to V Formation for advice on announcing the merger. We advised the partners of both firms on the most relevant marketing strategy for the merger, drawing on our extensive experience in the sector.

Utilising our excellent relations with the target media, the merger dominated the front page of the Nottingham Post's Business supplement the day after the merger was announced to staff.
