V Formation Marketing & PR workshops for 2019

Following the success of our previous workshops, V Formation is holding a series of marketing & PR training sessions aimed at marketers who are looking to get to grips with some of the fundamental elements of marketing, or wish to sharpen their existing skills and knowledge.

As well as having an opportunity to add to and refresh their knowledge and skills, participants will also have the chance to network and share their challenges and experiences with those in similar roles.

Each workshop will be informal and interactive and will allow participants to put into practice what they’ve learnt. At V Formation we are passionate about developing marketing and PR professionals and our aim for each workshop is to inspire and equip.

The workshops take place at BioCity in Nottingham and each one runs from 9.30am to 1.30pm. Lunch is included after the session to allow participants to ask questions and network in an informal environment.

The cost for each workshop is £150 + VAT. Alternatively, there is the option to book all four workshops for the discounted price of £400 + VAT.

To ensure the workshops are as interactive as possible, numbers are limited to 10 participants. These workshops tend to be popular, so early booking is advised.

Workshop 1 – Maximising PR content for print and online channels

This workshop is delivered by V Formation’s PR team who have substantial experience in PR, securing high quality editorial coverage in a range of top tier media across a wide variety of sectors. Our team will share their tips and advice on identifying, connecting and engaging with the most influential journalists and audiences, repackaging written content and using digital PR tools to help participants maximise their own PR efforts and return on investment.

Participants will learn:

  • How to identify relevant media and compile a comprehensive media database
  • How to issue press releases to media
  • How to engage with journalists and get coverage
  • How to repackage written material for PR
  • How to repurpose news stories for online
  • Making the most of your online newsroom
  • Which digital PR tools / tips and tricks to use
  • How to measure your return on investment in PR

Workshop 2 – Creating a compelling brand

 Your brand is so much more than just your logo, it’s everything you stand for and is important for differentiating yourself from your competitors. In this workshop we have collaborated with one of our design partners, Reach Marketing. Together we will focus on: 

  • The importance of branding
  • Creating a competitive and compelling brand
  • Tips for getting buy in from key stakeholders
  • Tools to help you develop your brand proposition
  • Why it’s important to shape and embed your brand values

Workshop 3 – Internal communications

Organisations spend large amounts of money and resources on their external relations and communication but often routinely neglect their internal marketing and communications. In this workshop we’ll cover:

  • Why internal communications is important
  • Tips for overcoming some of the key challenges
  • Tools to make internal communications easier and more effective
  • Real life examples of great internal communications

Workshop 4 – Marketing planning

This workshop provides participants with an overview of the key fundamentals of marketing strategy and planning and will cover:

  • The difference between strategy and planning
  • They key elements of the marketing planning process
  • Setting objectives
  • Creating the physical plan – tips and tools
  • Measuring effectiveness and ROI

During this session we will share lots of practical tips and tools, as well as examples of planning templates that participants can take away and utilise in their workplace.
