V Formation has experienced considerable growth over the last year, and with new clients, additions to the team, an expanded service portfolio, and a record breaking 42 percent rise in annual turnover last year, we decided it was time to find an office space that better fits us as a growing agency. Earlier this month, V Formation made the exciting move to the Discovery Building at BioCity.
V Formation has been based in the Innovation Building since moving into BioCity back in 2013. We were keen to stay within BioCity, not just because of the nurturing and collaborative community that we love being a part of, but also because it helps us to work closely with a number of our life sciences clients who are also based at BioCity Nottingham and BioCity Scotland.
Keen to remain rooted at BioCity, but knowing that our previous office wasn’t the right fit, we explored the newest addition to the BioCity site – the Discovery Building – which ticked all the boxes for what V Formation needed in an office space and offers a space that better reflects our company values.
The Discovery Building, BioCity
The £27 million BioCity Discovery Building is a flagship, state-of-the-art, contemporary building that contains a number of high-tech and modern research facilities, including a mixture of laboratories, and offices. The building covers almost 7,000m² of office and laboratory space and is one of Nottingham’s most significant developments over the last decade.
The building features an award winning sculpture titled ‘Corona’ – a sunscreen designed by Nottingham artist Wolfgang Buttress in partnership with Nottingham Trent University physicist Dr Martin Bencsik, which reduces the risk of the building overheating, making it more energy efficient. It includes a curtain of 17-metre high aluminium tubes with fibre-optic lights linking the building with NASA satellites.
“V Formation continues to be the marketing and PR agency at the forefront of the high tech and life sciences sector. We work with a growing number of businesses in the sector, including fellow tenant businesses in BioCity Nottingham and Scotland, so it makes perfect sense for us to be based at the largest science incubator in the UK. The Discovery Building offers us a fresh new space that fits well with our growing team whilst ensuring V Formation remains part of the thriving BioCity community.” – Sue Carr
“BioCity is right in the heart of Nottingham’s Creative Quarter, giving V Formation a good base from which we can meet clients’ marketing and PR needs across the region. We are building a strong team to support our clients, and the record growth in the last year is evidence of how committed, ambitious and spirited the team at V Formation is.” – Hilary Campton
