SPARK Bootcamp for life sciences entrepreneurs

SPARK Bootcamp for life sciences entrepreneurs
October 31, 2017 Leah Bradley

Applications are now open for life sciences entrepreneurs to sign up to SPARK Bootcamp, a part of the BioCity Accelerator Programme, helping start-ups to learn tools and techniques to explore their own business idea or to stress test their current company product, services, and business model.

The BioCity Business Accelerator project supports businesses, regardless of company age, experience or time commitments and is provided free of charge to participants.

The organisers behind the event said:

“We know that for healthcare start-ups the road to becoming a successful entrepreneur can be a bumpy one. So we are here to make the journey that little bit easier with the BioCity Accelerator Programme.”

Specifically, the BioCity Accelerator Programme offers:

  • A clear route to raising investment
  • An accelerated path to market
  • Coaching in the latest tools for entrepreneurial excellence

Entrepreneurs on the programme are supported by a network of:

  • Leading thinkers in the world of business acceleration
  • Serial entrepreneurs
  • Senior executives
  • Key industry figures
  • Entrepreneurial peers.

Sue Carr, V Formation director and life sciences marketing specialist commented:

“We would encourage early stage life sciences and healthcare companies to take a close look at the BioCity Accelerator Programme.

“In addition to providing valuable expertise, the programme backs promising ventures with access to early stage convertible loans to help get your venture off the ground, through to the equity investment more established companies need to grow.”

Accelerator graduates can also access crucial funding via the dedicated BioCity investment fund.

To explain more about the Accelerator programme and how to apply, BioCity is running the SPARK Bootcamp – a two-day introduction to the tools and methodologies it uses in the programme which will arm attendees with “new processes for preparing their business idea for any future commercialisation, technology translation, or start-up activity”.

The date for the boot camp is Monday 27 November to Wednesday 29 November. It is important attendees are present for the entire boot camp, which will take place at MediCity Nottingham, Thane Road, Nottingham, NG90 6BH.
