V Formation’s Sue Carr has been invited to support the MSc Marketing Management module at Nottingham Trent University.
V Formation director Sue Carr was approached via the Nottingham Trent University alumni network, having completed the Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate Diploma back in 2001. As an alumnus, Sue has been involved in mentoring students as they search for internships and helping with their employability.
The MSc module is concerned with the internal aspects of marketing, both in terms of its importance to the organisation and the role of the marketing manager. In today’s competitive environment and employment market, marketers need much more than just functional marketing knowledge; they need other personal attributes such as being an effective communicator, negotiator and problem-solver. This module focuses on a number of relevant topics including:
- Organisational structure and culture
- Management and leadership skills
- Role of the marketing manager
- Managing teams
- Financial measures
Sue has been invited by Course Leader, Adam Smith, to present a real-life case study and work with the students on three mini cases. These are: looking at the difference between management and leadership, building high performing teams, and internal communications to key stakeholders.
