GRADS for D2N2: a PR and marketing success story at V Formation

In late 2018, the business engagement team at NTU spoke to V Formation about its GRADS for D2N2 project, and we were delighted to welcome NTU graduate Beckie Chaddock to the team in February.

V Formation has worked with Nottingham Trent University (NTU) on a variety of rewarding ventures in recent years, from mentoring some of its brilliant marketing graduates, to taking part in its insightful Innovation Community Lab.

GRADS for D2N2The GRADS for D2N2 programme aims to support Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire based SMEs, by offering a package of free and subsidised support that can help businesses identify their skills and talent needs, and benefit from graduate talent in the region.

An English and Creative Writing graduate, Beckie joined V Formation on a 12-week placement as a PR Intern. During this time, she took on a wide range of responsibilities, including PR and media liaison, working with photographers and videographers, and developing content for client websites, blogs, and social media.

The 12-week timeframe of the placement gave both Beckie and V the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether the position was a suitable fit – a real benefit of this type of internship programme.

Beckie quickly became a highly-valued member of the team and at the end of her placement in May 2019, V Formation offered her a permanent role as a PR and Marketing Assistant.
